Absolutely Incredible Kid Day was started by an organization called Campfire whose mission is to connect young people to the outdoors, to others, and to themselves. The holiday was introduced in 1997 and is celebrated on the third Thursday of March every year.
The goal of the holiday is to ensure that our kiddos feel seen and encouraged. So how do we do that?
Campfire suggests two big ways to celebrate. Option one is to write your kiddo a letter explaining why they are amazing. They even offer this letterhead for you to print off! The other option is to simply sit your child down and tell them all the reasons you love them and what makes them an absolutely incredible kid.
But why limit that to your own kid? There are so many children in our lives, and each and every one of them deserves to know that they are loved.
So this March 16th, take some time to tell the kids in your life why you think they are incredible. Your words are powerful and more meaningful than you know. Hearing that you think they are incredible, can help build self-esteem and secure trust between you and your kiddo. The bottom line is that taking a little bit of time to build them up can make a huge difference in their lives.
We would love to hear all about your absolutely incredible kid! If you want to share, you can do so here!
